Update on our Building Project

We have made some progress on our construction site in the last few months!

At the beginning of July, the foundation of the ground floor, i.e. the ceiling of our ground floor, was poured. For this, the 70 cubic metres of concrete we used first had to dry out for a few weeks.
In August, we were finally able to remove the bamboo supports on the ground floor as well as the wooden boards that served as a switch-out for the ceiling. Afterwards, the access points for the electrical cables were knocked out and the ducts were laid. In addition, all interior and exterior walls were plastered.
The further extension of the ground floor was started in September. First, our workers loaded all the existing bricks into the upper floor, which will soon be used to build the first floor.  At the same time, the ceiling mouldings were made of jute fibre and plaster. Eventually, all ceilings in the already existing classrooms and offices could be equipped with mouldings. In the refectory, the slanted ceiling was suspended with ceiling tiles.
In addition, our socket outlets were extended, which are particularly important in order to be able to work digitally in all classrooms in the future.

We find that this construction progress significantly increases the atmosphere of the rooms. And we can already very well imagine what our future classrooms will look like!
