Our School Building Project

WHY CHILDREN IN KOKROBITE
NEED THIS SCHOOL...

In the Tuba and Kokrobite fishing community, 1 in 8 kids kids within the age range of 5-14 years are either not enrolled in any basic school, not consistent with school, or are currently drop outs.

These can be attributed to the increasing cost of education in schools and whiles most of these parents are low income earners as they trade in petty food crops.

Parents who are beneficiaries of our project earn as low (1 – 2€) on a daily basis.

Through, the Arise e.V we have provided free educational services for students in Pre-school and grades 1-4 over the last 5 years, and continually fed them freshly cook balanced meals. Nevertheless, there is an alarming increase in students staying home during school sessions or going to trade due to the impact of Covid on the income of parents.

To expand our reach and opportunity to more deprived young people, we are putting up a new school with a sustainable design that is conscious of the environment.

As an organization, we have secured and now own a two plot of land at Kokrobite. We have strong partnerships with local organizations with expert knowledge in education and sustainability to develop structures, and systems to manage and provide an excellent education when our new school building is realized.

With the help of donors who have been contributing to our school over 5 years, our new school would continually provide absolutely free educational services and meals to the 180 needy but brilliant students.

On a gross impact scale, the school would touch the lives of approximately 180 students, provide employment opportunities for 18 locals, and reduce the financial burdens on 180 families every academic year.

We believe, every child deserves the right to quality education despite their social status. With your help, we can once again give these young people a reason to be hopeful and dream of becoming who ever they wish to be.

Features of Our School

In a new ICT lab, students will train their soft skills and get in touch with new technology. The lab will also give them the opportunity to conduct independent research to broaden their knowledge and deepen their personal interests.

Through its own library, Arise e.V. would  offer pupils access to a diverse collection of literature. In a quiet room, it will be possible for them to get to know new genres and thus discover reading as an enjoyable activity.

A playground will enable pupils to let off steam and play together during break times.

A bright dining room where the pupils receive  freshly cooked lunch every day will also be as  art room intermitently. There, students will be given free rein to their own creativity and learn new art techniques

We are also committed to inclusion, hence     would have at least one user friendly bathroom out of the total four, for persons with disability
